FreeParkApp (“the app”) is operated by ALKAN STUDIOS LTD (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 17351835), registered office: Unit 29 Highcroft Industrial Estate, Enterprise Road, Horndean, Hampshire, PO8 0BT, United Kingdom. What we collect

Account data — your email address. Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a one-time code, so there is no password to store. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address from them.
Searches — the destinations you search for, the arrival times you choose, and the parking results we compute for them.
Location — the destination you type is inherently location data. If you grant the app permission to use your device location (optional), we use it to plan your journey from where you are; we do not track your location in the background.
Subscription status — whether you have an active FreeParkApp subscription. Payments are processed entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play; we never receive your card details.
Push notification token — if you enable notifications, a device token used to send them.
Parking feedback — if you answer our “did you park?” questions, your answers (street, yes/no, reason) are stored to improve data quality for everyone.
Technical logs — standard server logs (IP address, request time, app version) kept for security and debugging.

What we use it for

Providing the service — finding parking and planning journeys (contract).
Operating your account and subscription (contract).
Improving parking data accuracy, e.g. via aggregated parking feedback (legitimate interest).
Sending notifications you have opted into (consent — revocable any time).
Security, fraud prevention and debugging (legitimate interest).

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of service providers to run FreeParkApp: Supabase (database and authentication — hosted in London, UK/eu-west-2), Vercel (application hosting), RevenueCat (subscription status management), Mapbox (address search and routing), Transport for London (journey planning), and Apple / Google (payments and push notification delivery). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Search history and parking feedback are kept in identifiable form only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Server logs are kept for a short rolling window.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, and you can withdraw consent (e.g. turn off notifications) at any time. To delete your account and associated data, email [email protected] from your account email — we action deletion requests within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

International transfers

Our primary data storage is in the United Kingdom. Where a provider processes data outside the UK/EEA, transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

Children

FreeParkApp is a driving-related service and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy here and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app.
